Ayurvedic Principles Seminar
The principles of Ayurveda tell us that by finding balance in the body, mind and spirit, we can keep ourselves not only free from disease, but more able to feel true happiness and contentment. Introduction to the Basic Principles of Ayurveda will help you begin making changes for greater balance according to your unique constitution (basic nature).
The Basic Principles of Ayurveda
While learning Ayurveda intellectually is important, the true essence of Ayurveda can only be conveyed through your experience of it. During our time together I hope to give you a brief opportunity to experience the value of Ayurveda for yourself through an exploration of asana, meditation, breath-work, agni hotra, physical nourishment, and the benefits of daily routine. By feeling Ayurveda in your body, you will better be able to apply this ancient science to your unique constitution at home!
Ayurveda & Herbs
During this lecture Kerry will provide you with an overview of the basic principles of Ayurveda and an in depth look at how some local herbs can be used to help bring your individual constitution back into balance!
Ayurveda & Food: Cooking For Your Body Type Made Easy
Cooking according to the Ayurvedic principles is one of the easiest ways you can start bringing these timeless principles into your life. Ayurveda views all foods and spices according to their taste, and the effect they have on the internal digestive system. By learning how to view food we are able to see how different types of food bring us either further into or out of balance. This can help us in any area of our life whether we are learning how to support our new baby, how to care for our elderly parents, or how to bring more balance into our own physical or mental imbalances.
Beating the Heat with Ayurveda!
Summer is a time when the hot quality is at its peak, often times leading us to develop heat conditions in our body like sunburns, rashes, hives, boils, and just generally being very hot. Ayurveda and Yoga can play a powerful role in helping us eliminate these problems before they begin, or at the very least help us cope when they develop.
Ayurveda and in the workplace?
We all know that stress is inevitable in the workplace. During our time together we will look at different methods to combat these various work stressors. Specifically looking at how exercise, diet, mindfulness practices, breathing exercises, and simple stretches can positively impact our bodies and help either energize or calm the body and mind naturally. In addition to discussing some of these concepts we will be taking time to actually experience the impact of these various practices.
The synergistic union of Yoga and Ayurveda together create a way of life in harmony with the world of nature and our higher self. According to the principles of Ayurveda, like increases like. Therefore, you may be drawn to a yoga practice that will increase the gunas (qualities) that are already predominant in your nature which is contrary to what is naturally balancing. Together we will explore practices that are in alignment with your individual Prakruti (innate constitution), Vikruti (current imbalance) and the three doshas (Vata, Pitta and Kapha). Ayur-Yoga is an all encompassing practice that is equally applicable for beginners and seasoned practitioners of yoga.
Initial Consultations are 1 hour. Before the consultation you will be asked to fill out an in depth health and life history form. During our time together I will try to gain a better picture of your overall lifestyle using the lens of Ayurveda. Together we will explore the current state of your body, wellness concerns, diet, and other areas depending on your individual needs. Following your consultation, I will compile and email you an individualized educational packet of Ayurvedic diet and lifestyle materials to help you address your concerns. This information often includes education about your constitution, yoga asana, breath work, meditation techniques, the application of spices and oils, food recipes, and lifestyle guidelines. My goal is to educate you to begin addressing your health care concerns through diet and lifestyle.
Follow-up consultations can vary in length. While the initial consultations are meant to help you begin making changes, these follow-up consultations allow a deeper and more complete understanding of your imbalances. During this time we will review together what has or has not worked from your previous consultation and discuss any new imbalances. We will then explore together how to refine your diet and lifestyle practices to find even greater balance. If applicable, this may again include a follow-up email with additional information Ayurvedic education.

*Please note that a 6 hour session block is much less expensive over all. I try to do this because I honestly believe that much more can be achieved with a sustained commitment to Ayurveda, and this takes several months to understand how to personally apply it's principles.
